Overview
Many companies in the PC Consulting and integration industry purchase products from PC industry distributors such as Tech Data.  It is very important to these companies to receive up to date pricing and availability information so that they have all the tools they need to deliver product to their customer as fast as possible.  Having access to real-time pricing gives the company the ability to deliver last minute price savings to their customer. Having access to real-time availability gives the company the ability to know if the product will ship today, or if it will be backordered.  Since a backordered product cannot be shipped to a customer, knowing that a product is backordered before placing an order will give you the tools you need to make a good purchasing decision.

A real-time data module using our DataOnDemand^TM  technology is available for QuoteWerks that delivers Tech Data real-time pricing and availability to QuoteWerks users.  The real-time data module licensing and pricing is based on the "reserved concurrency" model. Whenever a user on the network uses the real-time data module, a license is reserved for that user and is not released until the user exits QuoteWerks.  The number of real-time licenses does not need to match the total number of QuoteWerks licenses.

The real-time pricing and availability features are integrated into many areas of QuoteWerks such as:

The Product Lookup window
From the Product Lookup window, you can select a product, right-click, and select the Real-time Pricing and Availability menu item. This will display the real-time data window. If you click on the [Accept] button, the Cost, List and Availability numbers in the database will be updated with this real-time data.

The Vendor Price Comparison Worksheet
From the Vendor Price Comparison Worksheet, you can click on the ellipsis button to the right of the Tech Data price. This will display the real-time data window. If you click on the [Accept] button, the Cost of the item listed in the comparison worksheet will be updated.

The Refresh with Latest Pricing feature
When you select the Tools|Refresh with Latest Pricing menu, you will be asked if you want to refresh the pricing using the offline database, or the real-time data.

The Refresh with Best Pricing feature
When you select the Tools|Refresh with Best Pricing menu, you will be asked if you want to refresh the pricing using the offline database, or the real-time data.

The Add Item Assistant
From the Add Item Assistant, you can click on the lightning bolt button. This will display the real-time data window. If you click on the [Accept] button, the Cost and List numbers in the Add Item Assistant will be updated with this real-time data.
