GoldMine is a wonderful product, but sometimes you
want those odd changes to the dialog or flow, such
as changing labels, always ticking certain boxes,
hiding tabs, disabling fields. For example you might
want to change a label in the Schedule Call, or
to make meetings always private, or to always tick
the Notify box.
Up to now you could not do this without developing
a whole separate add-in. Huge work and expense!
Well, now with UI
Plus from Solica there is a whole new
way which is easy, simple and flexible. UI
Plus only works with GoldMine 6.7 and
above, as it makes use of a new programming interface
to GoldMine introduced by the GoldMine developers
in this version.
UI
Plus runs in the background, automatically
amending designated GoldMine dialogs as they appear,
or even preventing them appearing. It works in a
complete hidden way - all you see is that the dialogs
are modified. The only sign of it running is a small
icon on your systray.
UI Plus is easily
configured by a GoldMine master user.
All configuration data is stored in the GoldMine
InfoCenter so can synchronise to all sites. Like
Solica's other GoldMine add-ons, including the hugely
popular Details Plus, UI Plus is simple, elegant
and reliable.
UI Plus currently lets you make the following changes
to GoldMine dialogs:
- Ensure tick boxes are checked or unchecked
when a window appears and/or when it is closed
- Allows windows to be prevented from appearing
- for example the dangerous activity auto-update
function.
- Changes can be made when the window first
appears, but also for many when the window closes
(forcing certain values).
- Change screen text in dialogs, on buttons,
labels etc
- Hide tabs in multi-tab dialogs
- Pre-select values from drop downs
- Changes can be user specific (for example
allowing only some users access to some tabs)
by starting it with different configurations
