Highlights of MasterMine version 6.0:

Details:

1. Simpler "Report Builder" dialog
Users will find it even easier to go from "I need a report that..." to actually having the report in seconds.  A simpler, cleaner dialog makes choices clear and easy.

2. Template finder and many more templates
Find needed templates from over 200 pre-designed reports by keyword, with full description and context provided in advance.  Each template is the starting point for 1000's of variations.

3. Save new templates, launch "recently used" reports
After choosing template and making field selections, you may save settings under your own user-defined template name -- and recall it at will for more variations later.  Also, easily launch recently-used reports under the File menu.

4. Office 2007 and Windows Vista Compatibility
Handles new workbook type variations under Office 2007, takes advantage of new features in Office 2007 to make reports even more flexible and back-end query management easier.

5. Ease-of-use features in Excel
Many functions and features requested by our over-5000 users worldwide, including:
Search dialog
New grouping and "add-to-group" dialogs,
Set filter settings across multiple reports in a workbook,
Clean up unused field buttons,
Delete drilldown sheets and Logsheets from MMUpdater,
Save the SQL password automatically in workbooks, and much more.

"Create New Report" Dialog:

•Template finder – select starting template from list or using saved keywords at report level
•Save newly created report as “User-defined Template” to be recalled from template finder
•In “File” menu:
o"Recent Reports" list
oReload most recent settings
•Opportunities, Projects and Cases reports in main/report creator dialog (preference-driven) lists corresponding templates in selection box
•Sort Profiles/Detail Types alphabetically
•Change pending/history record type list to checkboxes for easy selection of multiple items
•Preferences:

o Dock MM toolbar always on create or open
o Always save SQL password in new reports
o Auto-hide all fields with no valid items
o Auto-hide all fields with no default selection
o Hide/Turn off field list on open

•(Bug) for SQL 2005 (or SQL Express?) selection of QuoteWerks database not working
•(Bug) In Sorting dialog, when check on new field, two fields drawn into checked area.
•(Bug) Sometimes doing v5 update (creating name_Old for newly created reports – and toolbar fails – make it stop
•(Bug) If filter contains DOES NOT contain in SQL, need to also add ‘or is null’ in logic
•Info Box: 'About' tab: show Path to GM.exe, CommonPath, GMBasePath, Path to MM.exe, Default Path to MM reports, SQL compatibility, current SQL Alias being used, other SQL parameters (server, database, user, etc.), GoldMine license, GMVersion, MasterMine license, MMVersion and build, AND launch MMini.xls or username.ini if clicked.
•On creation, store original template name (before user changed it) and creator and createdate and MM version in workbook.
•Minimize button (regular window controls)
•If launching while MM dialog still open, bring current instance to foreground

Existing Templates

•Rtrim all userid fields
• Add “color” as optional field to all pending activity reports

Open Dialog
•Progress Box showing "opening file:  " when invoked as immediate or by open dialog
•Turn off Field List (Preference) and dock toolbar (Preference)
•(bug) Windows Vista:  When opening MM report from GM taskbar, focus stays in GoldMine but MM report in excel is highlighted Windows taskbar item.


Excel Features
Formatting
•Ability to apply filter (page item selection) across all reports in workbook (Double-click selected page item.)
•Hide "All" fields on initial launch in Excel (preference)
•“Group Dialog” (MasterMine group):
oEnter new group name in dialog OR add to group from list of existing groups
oAutomatically name same group in other PivotTabkess sharing same PivotCache (if more than one pt exists)

Excel Toolbar
•Refresh all pivot tables in workbook – added to refresh menu
•New “Modify Query” behavior:
oWhen changing underlying query, where more than one pivot table uses the pivot cache, ask if change should be applied across all pivot tables
•Rename “Add to GoldMine Taskbar” to “Share/Assign Report”
•“Format” button or dialog
oHide "All" fields in page area
oInsert company logo in printout header (path in preferences)

oIf “save SQL password” checked on, see if password already in connection string, prompt for it if missing.
oHandle various possible Excel filetypes, by either:
o(bug): Troubleshoot read-only or open password protection. If report already has read-only password and you save to toolbar, password no longer works.

oDrilldown option:  Show 1/1/1989 as blank in drilldown sheet
oMove MSQuery launch button to bottom of Query page
oFor Union statements, continue adding carriage returns after union for each field

Drilldown
•Office 2007:  If drilldown sheet sorted, O2007 reformats header row so drilldown to GM stops working bc it checks format of drilldown sheet headers before continuing
•BUG: On drilldown, if fieldname is blank as substitute, use original fieldname. 
Not doing this would cause AccountNo not to be found if subsequent to blank column header.
•On drilldown to GMPE, get control on “Contacts” window before calling record
•For GMPE turn off OpenWindow option (temporary) – restore when drilldown handled by API instead of DDE
Reports Administration
•Run reports on Schedule using Windows Scheduler
•Lock out non-MM licensed users before save or save as

MMUpdater
•Made it possible to update Notes fields in C1, CS, CA, CH
•Update of Document Links (Links tab) handling both Address and blob representations
•Ability to delete records – not entire account, but anything with RecID
oFirst, just individual records where recno present
User Control/Administration
•Administer Site License OR Share Site License from GM Folder (license once for all users)
•“Licensed Demo” licensing option – free option, permanently allows reports only on Pending Activities and (for GM PE) Service/Cases
•Security: Control Read-only/non-licensed usage by turning off MSQuery, Drilldown, refresh and hiding all worksheets before save or close, turn on at load

Installation/troubleshooting
•Workstation Setup ask (not suppressed in normal installation) for default settings in preferences, esp. toolkits to use, 
•Mastermine.exe, when /D turned on, select parts to include in debugging
•Write log to MMLog.txt file

Structural
• (SQL only) – eMail MergeCodes as field in CX reports (need index below)
•install idx_LinkAcct to speed use of udfSuppContEmail for large databases
For Updater:  Fields5 view – only if Fields5 does not exist in database
• [Bug]Fix CreateOn so we don’t get error when CreateOn not there and Accountno can’t be parsed to valid date
• [Bug] For O2007, sometimes report is saved with field in page area that has too many unique items for O2003. 
If this happens, PT is invalidated when someone opens in O2003.  Test for this and save as O2007 instead, or instruct user to re-try manually.
