What is GoldBox for GoldMine ? 

It is the world's most extensive CRM companion product, written specifically for GoldMine hosted in dBase, MSSQL or Firebird.  GoldBox debuted with its first sale on April 8th, 1993.  It has sold more than 25,000 copies, and has garnered 3 awards from FrontRange Solutions. 

Who can use GoldBox ? 

EVERY GoldMine installation benefits from the power provided by GoldBox.  It is in use at banks, universities, automobile dealerships, various businesses of any size - in short, anywhere GoldMine is implemented. 

What will it do for my GoldMine system ? 

GoldBox provides the finest batch operations for data manipulation in GoldMine.   Some that are found in GoldMine originated in GoldBox (such as Merge-Purge); others far exceed the counterpart in GoldMine (such as Import / Update); and still more offer capabilities not found anywhere in GoldMine (such as Org Chart Builder, Email Bounce Router, User Name Changer, Links Path Changer, etc.).  Complete automation and scripting logic is also available in GoldBox.  This is ideal for timer-launched processing at night or on the weekends.  More than 40 categories of batch operations can be run, and each script can run any number of events.  The interactive portion of the product is GoldBox Views, which is used for Org Chart Creation and for Expanded Usage of GoldMine Details.  GoldBox Views also allows instant live viewing of linked data in outside systems.  The data entry capabilities let you create screens that utilize GoldMine's data model in new ways.  You can also setup data entry screens for non-GoldMine data. 

Which GoldBox release do I need? 

There are 3 releases from which to choose: 

1. GoldBox-5 (for GoldMine 5.x to 6.x hosted in DBASE) 
2. GoldBox-SQL (for GoldMine 5.x to 6.x hosted in MSSQL) 
3. GoldBox-7 (for GoldMine 7 ONLY, hosted in MSSQL or Firebird) 

Within a release, the updates are free.  For example, licensed users have been getting free updates to GoldBox-5 since 1999, and to GoldBox-SQL since 2000.  When switching to a new release, there is always an Upgrade price.

How do I install and purchase GoldBox ?

ALWAYS install the DEMO and configure it FIRST!

This ensures the product operates correctly prior to your decision to purchase.  As a TEST: Recommend that you run a MERGE-PURGE (found at the Setup menu) in the demo, to produce a COUNT of duped Main Contacts.  Also try EXPORTING from Main Contacts, using both CONTACT1 and CONTACT2 fields in your mapping.  Since the DEMO is the installer and also contains the F1 Help / Documentation, you will receive only a license.  Save this license file into the GoldBox Root Folder.

IMPORT / UPDATE: From outside Source data, you can attach new records and update existing records in GoldMine's entire data model - which is more than 40 individual tables.  In addition: You can Import into and Update ANY accessible non-GoldMine data table on your system.  This is a world-class procedure - with features not to be found in any other Import/Update utility. 

EXPORT: Forget about designing complex Queries or intricate table relations to push data out of GoldMine.  GoldBox does all the hard work for you.  Point-and-shoot your way through dedicated Exports of GoldMine data to other file formats.  In addition: Create automated Exports from ANY accessible non-GoldMine data on your system. 

MERGE-PURGE: The concept originated in GoldBox - and it's the best, fastest and SAFEST way to eliminate GoldMine duplicate Main Contacts, and re-attach their related Tab records to the survivors.  In addition: Create a Merge-Purge operation for ANY accessible non-GoldMine data on your system. 

DEDUPE: Any single table can be scanned for dupes, based on your custom match expression.  GoldMine data tables, and any accessible non-GoldMine data table on your system.

GLOBAL REPLACE: In a single pass, you can hit up to 15 fields at once, in any GoldMine or outside table.  You can update Main Contact fields from Tab records, including Totals, Most Recent, Highest, Lowest.  Plus, you can dynamically link to outside data - allowing field replace of GoldMine data from a related non-GoldMine table.

Real time display of data from anywhere on your system that is related to the current Contact record.  Any table accessible via a BDE Alias (SQL, dBase, Paradox, Access 97 or ODBC table) that responds to basic SQL Query commands can be pulled up in a GoldBox View. 

With GoldBox Views, this venerable utility package has taken a stunning leap into supplying an advanced User Interface for GoldMine. But the focus really isn’t the interface itself, which looks deceptively simple. Instead, the real attraction is its ability to connect GoldMine’s data to the data from other applications, in “real time”. Using a GoldBox View, data from GoldMine can be co-mingled with related data from an accounting program, production control program, shipping program…you name it!
